B32 Artspace, De Ravelijn (Maastricht), October 12 - November 24, 2024
This group exhibition engages with the site-specific history of the residential neighborhood De Ravelijn, which was engineered in the 1950s to house and resocialize "asocial" citizens from Maastricht's city center.
Located inside the school building originally constructed for the "reeducation" of so-called problem families and their children, this B32 expo reflects on ideas of enclosure; not just of land, but also of knowledge and bodies. Five artists present works that enter into dialogue with practices of division, measurement, and repetition. How do these often invisible acts permeate different facets of society and shape our lives?
